Are cops “cool”? Do all the cool kids want to become a cop when they grow up?
Argument against cops being cool: Cops do their jobs so poorly that they invariably need the help of vigilantes like Spiderman, Batman, etc. And even then, these heroes are sometimes at odds with the popo for being vigilantes.
Argument in favour of cops being cool: Robocop. Cool enough that some people like Robocop so much that they want to raise money to put a Robocop statue in Detroit.
But I guess you have to be a cyborg to be cool, because other famous cops like Judge Dredd, Inspector Gadget, Dick Tracy, etc. just don’t get the same level of street cred.
Verdict
Sorry Robocop, but unionized government employees will always get a bum rep.
